NOTE: Wetting agents enable
easier suspension of magnetic particles and better wetting of parts being inspected
so that full coverage is achieved. Corrosion inhibitors retard water’s attack
on the magnetic particles and thus extend bath life. They also help prevent corrosion
of parts during processing and protect any exposed inspection machinery parts.
They are not designed to provide long-term corrosion protection for stored parts
after testing. When long term protection is required, an oil vehicle or a separate
anti-corrosion treatment is recommended. Anti-foaming agents suppress the natural
tendency of a wetting agent to create foam when agitated.
